This course focuses on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and control systems used in deck machinery. Students learn to inspect, diagnose, and repair systems associated with winches, windlasses, capstans, mooring equipment, and other deck-based machinery. Topics include motor control, sensors, automation and PLC systems, safety interlocks, and preventive maintenance procedures. Emphasis is placed on safe work practices, fault-finding skills, and ensuring the reliable and efficient performance of essential deck operations.
