This course provides the knowledge and understanding required for the safe operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of shipboard electric propulsion systems. Training includes the principles of electric propulsion, types and characteristics of marine electric motors, power conversion equipment, and associated control and monitoring systems. Emphasis is placed on operational safety, protective devices, fault identification, and compliance with relevant standards and procedures to ensure the reliable and efficient performance of electrically driven propulsion and auxiliary machinery.
