This course covers the fundamentals of managing and maintaining high- and low-voltage electrical systems safely within an isolated power network, like a ship or an industrial plant. It focuses on the mechanics of power generation (alternators and generators) and how that power is safely moved through main switchboards, transformers, and distribution panels to reach various machinery. The training places a massive emphasis on hazard prevention, teaching personnel how to recognize electrical faults, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and safely execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to isolate circuits before maintenance. Ultimately, it ensures that engineers can manage heavy electrical loads and troubleshoot power systems without risking catastrophic blackouts, equipment damage, or fatal electrical shocks.
