Master the digital sculpting workflows, character rigging methodologies, and additive manufacturing optimization standards required to design versatile 3D avatars for both digital media and physical fabrication. This course covers organic and hard-surface 3D modeling, high-to-low poly baking, clean topology and edge-loop flow for deformation, UV unwrapping, PBR texturing, skeletal rigging and weight painting for character animation, as well as manifold geometry validation, wall-thickness analysis, structural keying/splitting, and support structure generation for 3D printing. You will develop the specialized artistic and technical capabilities needed to sculpt expressive digital characters in industry-standard software (such as ZBrush, Blender, and Maya), build production-ready rigs for real-time engines and animated pipelines, prepare watertight (non-manifold-free) STL/OBJ mesh exports, configure slicing parameters for FDM and SLA/resin printers, and troubleshoot printing artifacts to bridge virtual character creation with tangible physical manufacturing.
