Basic Knowledge of Heat Transfer, Mechanics, and Hydromechanics

This course provides foundational knowledge of the principles of heat transfer, mechanics, and hydromechanics as applied to marine engineering. Students learn the basics of conduction, convection, and radiation, along with fundamental mechanical concepts such as force, motion, work, and energy. Training also includes the behavior of fluids at rest and in motion, pressure relationships, and flow characteristics relevant to shipboard systems. Emphasis is placed on understanding how these principles influence the operation, safety, and efficiency of marine machinery and equipment.
