This course provides the knowledge, understanding, and proficiency required for seafarers assigned duties on oil and chemical tankers in accordance with STCW. Training includes tanker characteristics, cargo hazards, safety procedures, pollution prevention, emergency response, and safe working practices. Students learn basic cargo operations, tank atmospheres, inert gas principles, personal protective equipment, and measures to prevent fire, explosion, and contamination. Emphasis is placed on maintaining the safety of personnel, the vessel, and the environment during tanker operations.
