This course provides foundational knowledge of electronic principles and components used in shipboard systems, in accordance with STCW engineering competencies. Students learn the behavior and application of semiconductors, diodes, transistors, and basic electronic circuits, including amplification and switching circuits. Training includes understanding signal flow, circuit diagrams, power supplies, and basic troubleshooting techniques. Emphasis is placed on developing the ability to interpret electronic systems, support safe operation, and perform basic maintenance and diagnostics on marine electronic equipment.
