This course provides practical training in the advanced operation of ship machinery using an engine room simulator. Students practice starting and operating propulsion and auxiliary systems, understand propulsion resistance, and work with constant-speed and combinator control modes.
The course includes training in E0 (periodically unmanned) engine room operations, focusing on alarm handling, monitoring systems, and automatic control functions. Students also develop effective communication between the Bridge and the Engine Control Room (ECR).
Through realistic operational scenarios, learners strengthen their ability to manage machinery safely, respond to faults, and support efficient vessel operation.
