Maintenance and Repair of Electrical System Equipment, Switchboards, Electric Motors, Generators, and Direct Current (DC) Systems and Equipment

This course provides comprehensive training in the maintenance, inspection, and repair of shipboard electrical systems and components. Students learn to service switchboards, power distribution equipment, electric motors, and generators, as well as direct current (DC) systems and related devices. Topics include fault diagnosis, insulation testing, alignment and overhaul procedures, preventive maintenance practices, and compliance with safety and operational standards. Emphasis is placed on ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safe operation of electrical machinery essential to vessel performance.
