The course covers the mechanisms of corrosion, including electrochemical reactions, galvanic corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, and corrosion accelerated by seawater, humidity, and temperature variations. Learners will study how different ship materials—steel, aluminum, coatings, and composites—respond to marine conditions both above and below the waterline.
