This course introduces students to the structure, roles, and daily routines of life on board a vessel, emphasizing effective teamwork, communication, and professional conduct within the ship’s community. It also covers the principles of safe and efficient watchkeeping, including lookout responsibilities, bridge and engine room watch procedures, situational awareness, record-keeping, and compliance with STCW regulations. Students gain the knowledge needed to support a safe working environment and perform their duties responsibly during all phases of vessel operation.
