This course provides the knowledge, understanding, and proficiency required for maintaining an effective engine-room watch in accordance with STCW regulations. Students learn watchkeeping principles, monitoring of machinery and equipment, proper logbook entries, detection of abnormal conditions, and the safe operation of propulsion and auxiliary systems. Training includes communication procedures, response to alarms, adherence to engine-room routines, and compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
