This course provides essential knowledge of the operating principles of mechanical systems commonly found on board ships. Students learn the fundamentals of machinery operation, including rotating equipment, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and transmission systems. Training covers system functions, component interactions, routine monitoring, and safe operating practices. Emphasis is placed on developing a practical understanding of how mechanical systems support ship operations and on applying safe procedures during normal operation and basic troubleshooting.
