This course introduces the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, which is the global standard for the safe operation of ships and pollution prevention. Students learn how to implement and maintain a Safety Management System (SMS) both onboard and ashore.
Key topics include identifying operational risks, understanding the roles of the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and the Master, reporting accidents, and preparing for mandatory safety audits to ensure compliance with international maritime laws.
