Students learn to inspect, diagnose, and repair systems associated with winches, windlasses, capstans, mooring equipment, and other deck-based machinery. Topics include motor control, sensors, automation and PLC systems, safety interlocks, and preventive maintenance procedures. Emphasis is placed on safe work practices, fault-finding skills, and ensuring the reliable and efficient performance of essential deck operations.
