This course covers the materials and responsibilities related to officers’ administrative duties on board and within shipping operations. Topics may include business correspondence, preparation and handling of cargo documents such as Bills of Lading (B/L), Mate’s Receipts (M/R), and Charter Parties (C/P), as well as personnel administration and the interpretation of shipping company reports and documentation. Students gain the skills needed to manage essential paperwork and support efficient, compliant vessel administration.
