This course provides the knowledge, understanding, and proficiency required to perform the duties of a Ship Security Officer in accordance with STCW and the ISPS Code. Training includes development, implementation, and maintenance of the Ship Security Plan, conducting security assessments, monitoring security systems, and coordinating drills and exercises. Students learn threat identification, access control measures, crowd management, handling security incidents, and effective communication with the Company Security Officer (CSO) and Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO). Emphasis is placed on maintaining the ship’s security level, protecting personnel and cargo, and responding effectively to security threats and unlawful acts.
