This course provides the knowledge and understanding required to apply safety management principles on board ships in accordance with STCW, the ISM Code, and company procedures. Training includes hazard identification, risk assessment, safety reporting, permit-to-work systems, accident and near-miss prevention, and the implementation of corrective and preventive measures. Students learn how to support a strong safety culture, participate in safety meetings and drills, and ensure compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements. Emphasis is placed on maintaining a safe working environment and enhancing overall shipboard safety performance.
