This course focuses on the Permit to Work (PTW) system, which is a formal, safety-management process used to authorize and control high-risk tasks on a vessel or industrial site. It covers the mandatory safety steps required before dangerous jobs—such as hot work (welding), enclosed space entry, high-voltage electrical work, or working at heights—can even begin. The training teaches crew members how to properly assess risks, isolate hazards, fill out the legal documentation, and coordinate communication between management and the team doing the work. Essentially, it ensures everyone knows who is doing what, where, and when, preventing accidents by making sure a job is only started when every single safety box has been checked.
