Hot Work Precautions & Fire Watch Duties

175,00

This course focuses on managing the high-risk hazards associated with hot work—any operation that generates flames, sparks, or significant heat, such as welding, gas cutting, grinding, and brazing. It trains personnel on the mandatory safety precautions required before work can begin, including clearing flammable materials within a specific radius, conducting atmospheric testing for explosive gases, and securing a formal Hot Work Permit. A massive portion of the curriculum is dedicated to the critical responsibilities of the Fire Watch, the designated crew member whose sole job is to monitor the workspace, maintain functional firefighting equipment on standby, watch for hidden smoldering or stray sparks, and remain on-site for a specified period after the work is completed to ensure no delayed fires break out.
