This course provides foundational knowledge of electronic and power electronics principles used in marine electrical systems. Students learn the behavior and application of semiconductor devices, rectifiers, transistors, and basic electronic circuits, along with the fundamentals of power conversion, inverters, and controlled rectification. Training includes interpreting circuit diagrams, understanding switching and protection principles, and applying safe operational practices. Emphasis is placed on supporting the reliable operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of shipboard electronic and power electronic equipment.
