This course provides a highly practical breakdown of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs) to ensure safe watchkeeping. Participants will master the mechanics of steering and sailing rules, vessel lights and shapes, and sound or light signals used to communicate intent. The training focuses on real-world application—such as accurately identifying give-way vs. stand-on status, calculating risk of collision in heavy traffic, and making bold, early maneuvers to keep the vessel safe under all visibility conditions.
