This course covers the complex project management, engineering, and safety protocols required to take a vessel out of the water for scheduled underwater maintenance, structural repairs, and statutory surveys. It guides maritime professionals through the entire lifecycle of a drydocking project, beginning with the initial preparation of the repair specification list, budgeting, and calculating the ship’s stability and hull stresses when resting on the docking blocks. The training heavily emphasizes on-site supervision, teaching attendees how to manage contracted shipyard workers, coordinate high-risk tasks like hull blasting, tailshaft inspections, and sea valve overhauls, and ensure strict compliance with international safety and environmental regulations. Ultimately, it equips superintendents and ship officers with the skills to minimize expensive off-hire time and execute the drydock project safely, on schedule, and within budget.
