This course provides the foundational knowledge and proficiency required to plan safe and efficient voyages in accordance with STCW navigation standards. Students learn the principles of voyage planning, chart selection and correction, identification of navigational hazards, and the preparation of a complete berth-to-berth passage plan. Training includes the use of nautical publications, plotting techniques, tide and current considerations, and compliance with COLREGs and company procedures.
Emphasis is placed on accuracy, situational awareness, and ensuring the safety of the vessel, crew, and environment throughout all stages of the voyage.
