Participants will learn how to immediately mobilize onboard emergency response teams, utilize specialized spill kits, and deploy containment equipment like oil booms and chemical dispersants to limit environmental damage. The training places heavy emphasis on strict regulatory reporting requirements—including notifying coastal states and port authorities—while providing practical guidance on conducting realistic response drills to ensure the crew can act swiftly, safely, and cohesively during an accidental oil discharge.
