This course provides the knowledge and understanding required to work safely with high-voltage (HV) electrical systems on board ships in accordance with STCW and industry standards. Students learn HV system architecture, insulation principles, switchgear design, transformers, protection devices, and power distribution arrangements. Training includes HV generation, conversion, and control technologies, along with system monitoring and fault detection. Emphasis is placed on safety procedures, risk awareness, operational limitations, and maintaining the reliability and integrity of high-voltage installations.
