Cargo & Ballast Emergency Handling

175,00

This course covers the critical emergency protocols and technical interventions required when a vessel’s stability, structural integrity, or environmental safety is threatened by cargo or ballast water system failures. It trains officers and crew on how to rapidly respond to high-stress scenarios, such as shifting cargo, liquefaction of solid bulk cargoes, toxic or flammable gas leaks, and severe ballast pump failures that cause dangerous hull stresses. The training places a massive emphasis on executing rapid counter-ballasting measures to correct severe list or trim, utilizing emergency cargo discharge systems, and managing dangerous cargo vapor pressures. Ultimately, it ensures that mariners can make split-second, calculated decisions to stabilize the vessel, prevent catastrophic structural failure, and protect the marine environment during a cargo or ballast crisis.
