This course focuses on the systematic planning, realistic staging, and critical evaluation of mandatory shipboard emergency drills to ensure absolute crew readiness for unexpected maritime crises. It guides ship officers through the design of diverse drill scenarios—including fire, abandon ship, man overboard, oil spill, and security breaches—in strict compliance with international SOLAS regulations. The training teaches how to conduct effective pre-drill briefings, establish realistic timelines, and assess crew performance, response speed, and equipment handling under simulated stress. Crucially, it emphasizes the post-drill debriefing process to identify operational bottlenecks, communication gaps, or equipment failures, transforming routine regulatory compliance into a vital tool for building muscle memory and saving lives at sea.
