This course builds the frontline defense skills needed to protect a vessel or port facility from unauthorized entry and malicious intent. It trains security personnel and crew members how to rigorously enforce access control protocols at all entry points—including gangways, ramps, and cargo bays—by systematically verifying identification, inspecting visitor logs, and managing baggage screening.
The curriculum focuses heavily on threat identification, teaching participants how to spot the early warning signs of security breaches. This includes recognizing suspicious behavioral patterns, identifying altered or fraudulent documentation, and detecting concealed weapons, explosives, or contraband using both physical search techniques and advanced scanning equipment. Ultimately, the training ensures that personnel can act as an alert, proactive barrier, defusing potential security crises before they can compromise the safety of the vessel, cargo, or crew.
