This course covers the operational principles and safety protocols required to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot fluid power systems—both hydraulic (liquid-driven) and pneumatic (compressed air-driven)—used in heavy machinery, deck equipment, and automation controls. Because these systems operate under immense, stored pressures, the training focuses heavily on hazard prevention, including the danger of high-pressure fluid injection injuries, sudden component bursts, and uncontrolled mechanical movement from trapped pressure. Personnel learn how to safely isolate systems, bleed off residual energy, inspect hoses and seals for micro-leaks, and handle volatile hydraulic fluids safely to prevent industrial accidents, mechanical failures, and environmental leaks.
