This course details the essential safety protocols, risk assessment procedures, and specialized equipment required for conducting high-risk operations aloft or over the vessel’s side. Participants will examine the correct selection, inspection, and deployment of personal protective equipment (PPE)—including full-body harnesses, fall arrestors, safety lines, and riding bitts—alongside the mandatory execution of “Work at Height” permits. The training places heavy emphasis on recognizing environmental hazards like ship motion and wind, establishing secure anchor points, implementing effective deck-to-height communication, and mastering emergency rescue procedures to eliminate fall risks and guarantee crew safety during structural maintenance.
