Fire Prevention & Onboard Firefighting

175,00

This course covers the crucial fire safety protocols, prevention strategies, and tactical response measures required to combat fires on board a vessel, where external rescue is not an option. It trains crew members to identify and eliminate potential ignition sources, maintain structural fire boundaries, and test critical detection and alarm networks. Personnel learn the chemistry of fire, fire classification, and the practical operation of both portable extinguishers and fixed firefighting systems, such as carbon dioxide, foam, and water mist installations. Ultimately, the training ensures that the crew can rapidly organize into emergency fire teams, safely don self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and execute calculated search, rescue, and containment maneuvers to protect human life and save the ship from catastrophic destruction.
